8. What is a bill of lading (BL)?

The bill of lading is the document accompanying the transportation In other words it corresponds to the airline ticket for your baggage.

The BL number is the tracking number of the shipment. Normally a copy of the BL is sufficient to recover the shipment. However, for some destinations, the original BL will be required.
